Im new to all this ebay stuff but if it was me ,I would ring round and find out how much it would cost to repair, then I would take that cost off his refund. If it cant be repaired I would point out that he has sent it back broken and so cant be refunded but you will send it back to him if he wants to claim it on his insurance.0
