Reclaiming money back for Credit card booking with hotel that has closed down

I've booked to stay in a hotel in London at the end of February, though have just found out its shut down.

I've paid in full on Mastercard.

I've tried to contact the hotel but to no avail.

can anyone advice as to whether I could claim the money back through Mastercard?

I don't have any payment protection in place - will this make a difference?

  • Is it a credit or debit card and how much was the cost?
How did you make the booking?

    Are you a troll?

Did you book directly with hotel or through an agency?

If you booked directly with the hotel (ie the transaction didn't involve a third party) you can make a claim under section 75 with the card issuer (not Mastercard), providing the transaction was over £100.
  • He can also get the agency to refund him for services not received.

    Most probable a troll though.
