AST to statutory periodic query

just tell your LL you want the tenancy to go periodic, if he agrees great, if he says he wants a fixed term then thats upto you to decide whether to accept.
If you refuse to sign, expect your LL to give you notice.
Speak to the LL , the agents are at best plain ignorant or at worst actually lieing to you.0 -
Out of interest - how did this resolve? You said your Fixed AST was due to expire in February.0

Just to clarify...Mydeposits do not protect periodic tenancies on their own, but do protect a tenancy that has become periodic....this is because there are lots of tenancies that are currently periodic because they were agreed before the new deposit protection rules came in to force, which are not required to be covered.
From the inception date of the new scheme, any new AST should have been covered and will continue to be covered once and if it goes periodic. There are no fees payable in this instance.
Any new AST that is signed will attract the £20 odd quid protection fee Mydeposits charge as it is a new tenancy, even if it is granted to existing tenants.The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0
