Can you attend adult ed courses on MA?

Afternoon all :)

My OH would like to become a teaching assistant and is thinking of doing some of the adult ed evening classes etc.. whilst she is off on Mat leave and recieving Maternity Allowance, Is this something that is ok? i imagine if you can do them whilst working anyway it would be fine but we had better check!

Also is there any help for adult ed classes if they during the day she's under 25 we get childcare for DD1 i wonder if there would be any scheme for baby to have childcare for a few hours a week?

Some adult education centres have free creches with them. Your OH would probably need to contact them in advance to find out if they have places and might need to go on a waiting list. They prioritise people who are learning English I think, or did at the adult education centre I used.

I did a daytime course when I was on maternity leave and receiving MA, I'm fairly sure it's OK to do this. It's a leisure activity which you could do when you are working, so don't think there would be any issue.
