As you will be on a low income you will still be able to receive some HB/LHA and CTB when you are working.

If you put your details into entitledto.com it should give you an idea of any benefits you will receive.

    Cozza,

For the length of time you have been on ESA, you should be eligible for Return To Work credit - a tax free £40 per week allowance paid for 52 weeks.

Make an appt with a ESA Personal Advisor at the JC, who will sort out the paperwork for you.
Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!

Also possibly a job grant on closure of the claim. You do not have to apply for this it would be paid automatically if you qualify.
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

There is also a loan available - Alignment to Wages - this is available from the social fund but as the 'loan' part suggests it does have to be paid back.
