I did it today - What a huge relief

As you may have guessed from the title, I have today been declared bankrupt at 11.43. :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I can only say a huge thank you very much to everyone who posts on the forum as whether you know it or not, you have helped me come to a decision and deal with things so much better than I would have done. I only wish I had found this site a bit earlier as I have since found that I would have been eligible for an extra 240 a month when I was working that I had no idea about.
I just feel an overwhelming sense of relief, the OR has already called briefly and confirmed that my car would be exempt and they will not be contacting my landlord. They will let me know later whether or not I need an interview. The whole process has been smooth, I even enjoyed myself at the court as myself and the other prospective bankrupts were having a good natter and a laugh while we were waiting. No doubt that this will upset the trolls but never mind
Thanks again to everyone :beer::T:beer::T

Thanks ever so much to everyone who responded. I know I will never be in the same position again, my debts were due to a heavily reliance on paid childcare and lack of support from my ex for our two children ( unless you call support trying to send me into a nervous breakdown which meant huge chunks of time off work and you guessed it having to use credit cards and loans to cover unpaid sick leave, not to mention endless Solicitors fees for farsical court cases which normal individuals would have sorted out over a cup of tea!! ). Anyway, things are different now and I thoroughly intend to make the most of it. I now have the most fantastic husband and another child. I would never have managed without his unwavering support and the help of this board.
( Summer 19 ) As for the car, that was my only asset, OR asked how much it was worth and as it's only 1,500 ( no HP ) and I said I would be looking for work, I was told it would be exempt.
( Scared Mummy ) I do hope things go as well for you as it did for me. The court even provided a bit of comedy for me, in the form of a lost interpreter in the court office. I was one scared mummy myself this morning and now I feel I can look forward to my first birthday for years debt free at the end of this month!!0 -
Well done, congratulations, brilliant, and the rest!
Its interesting how easily one sparks up a conversation with the other peeps at court going down the same road as you... Another member met their future wife the day they went BR.
So happy birthday, make it a good one, to look forward and not back.
