HI there
Few days back I had some rootkit Virus in my PC and after seeing some threads I successfully installed MBAM and run a quick scan and removed many files.
I also had cleared some lines in registry after seeing this in some forums.
Now, after all this MY PC gets stuck every now and then and give a BEEp sound(from BIOS) and STUCKs, I have had to re-start my PC, however when I run MBAM (Quick Scan) nothing is found, though I have not done a Full Scan yet as the PC gets STUCK.
Could someone please kindly help as am very much in dilemma what to do really.
Please help.
Thanks
Sandeep

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)0 -
Hi Sandeep
Sounds like you possibly deleted something in your registry, you said....
I also had cleared some lines in registry after seeing this in some forums
Could you point us to where you saw that in the forum so we know what you have deleted?
I see this is your first post, If you are ever unsure about what to do please ask first before attempting to some DIY there is plenty of help here from both qualified/unqualified posters.0 -
Can you post the log from Malwarebytes programme - how did you remove registry entries?
Via a programme or manually?0 -
Hi all
Thank you all for your quick response.
Apologies for replying it so late as I was unable to see anything yesterday and it shutdown very quickly, also I tried running full scan on both my C &Drive using MBAM software and got one item removed which was not found in quick scan, still it gets STUCK every 10-15 mins and the only option is to re-start my PC.
Just to let you all know I have removed the following registry entries manually, though am poor in this, thought this is easy :
The related registry entries removed are as follows:- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\SimpleShlExt
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5E2121EE-0300-11D4-8D3B-444553540000}
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\SimpleShlExt
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malware Defense
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Malware Defense”

Have you considered an over heating problem yet?
Is the processor running at 100% for some reason?0 -
I never did the checks on that side as I was more worried about the virus and the removal, will keep an eye tonight on this.0

Hi all
Sorry again for such a late response, however checked everything and looks like there is no problem with my RAM or anything or any heating problem.
However, still me computer beep and freeze( after logging in and after a while). Before this happens, windows (not the OS) won't close, programs won't open, close, or respond. I can also Boot up the computer finely.
As suggested by fiddiweb, I guess somehow I deleted some unwanted details from registry (this is what I guess) which is becoming a problem to properly work.
Could someone please kindly advise how to repair my registry.0 -
Have you tried going back to a System Restore Point dated before you made the changes?0
-
Tried that with no help, I saw something about fixing MBR, which am hoing to try today.0

All good now, Thanks all for help.0
