Gas Winter Rebate Problems

Is anyone else still waiting for the 2005 winter rebate from british gas. I registered on 31 December and after numerous calls with many staff members throughout all the call centres I have still got nowhere even though I am listed as being registered. The staff come up with excuse after excuse, am I the only one still waiting?

got my next bill and guess what no rebate deducted, phoned again and got the usual run around. in the end i informed them that i would deduct the £40 off my bill and sent a cheque with a covering letter explaining the deduction. i received a gas disconnection letter which i phoned about and after speaking to a few more staff members i finally spoke to the supervisor of the rebate team called jane who says that the £40 rebate has been taken off our outstanding bill for £40 and we finally owe nothing. not recommending anyone does this but it seems to have worked for me, i did find out that an e-form had been filled out and placed on my account on the 31 dec 05. i also complained to energywatch about this situation.

Make sure you reapply and receive a letter stating you have registered for this years rebate. It is now £60 for gas paid in two installments. Register now as I am not sure if places are limited, with British Gas you never know. I have registered and received my letter which I have been informed is proof of registration and I need to keep hold of this letter.
