Hardship re-claim can we continue?

Hi,

is it a case of hold fire for those who are ready to write to the ombudsman asking for a reclaim? I don't know what arguments to use now that the OFT lost the case in December. The problem I have is that the bank are threatening to close the case if I do not reply by the 9th March 2010.

Any suggestions anyone?

  • I think that there will be a template letter published on here in time for you before march.

Does your letter say you can take the matter to the FOS if you don't agree with the proposed resolution? Or do you have a letter clearly marked 'deadlock'?

Whilst the bank may close the case after 8 weeks of not hearing from you, you have up to 6 months from such final correspondence to bring any claim to the attention to the FOS.

All banks are sending out rejection letters and as Premier has already given you the timescales involved then I would hold fire for the time being.
