Please help, i had problems with computer over xmas, had to pay for it to be fixed- wouldn't go on the internet cos of it having viruses. It's my 9 years old pc, so trying to keep on top of it now. I have the latest avast as protection and that found 7 trojans, did the boot scan. Then i was advised on here,to do the malaware scan, and that sorted it. It woked ok except for document file coming up 1st over the weekendThen came on to it again this morning and ran avast and it found an infection, thats been put in the chest. I ran the quick malaware and thats fine. Trouble is i'm not so convinced as when i click to go onto firefox i get a message saying that theres a problem with chrome registration, i have to click ok 4 times as the message keeps popping up. Then firefox comes on and the firefox add ons pops up- this happened before i did the first session of scanning and did get fixed so why has it come back? Also i get windows documents coming up before everything loads( saved documents etc) It does run quite quickly but it does take a few moments for fire fox to respond when the page is on. I don't know if it's me just being neurotic.

I think the OP means the PC is used by their 9 year old - not that it is 9 years old. Anyway, as to the "chrome registration message", I had this problem the other day. Download and install the latest version of Firefox and the problem should clear up. I got the message 1 more time after the update but it hasn't come back since.0
