True Citroen don't hold their value well but that applies to if bought from new. Once it's a used car it does not loose value that fast because it has already lost a lot of it. The key thing is to make sure you get it for the right price.
Buying it because it looks nice (I agree) ignores what it might be like to live with and pay for once the warranty has expired. As a rule French cars sit in the bottom third of the reliability survey chart where cars spend days a year off the road having something fixed and costing you money while it happens. Naturally there will be people who have had nothing but reliable service from their Citroens but if you go by statistics, you go and buy something Japanese ;)
If you still buy Citroen now at least your doing it having been "informed". Good luck.
The price of 2007 1.6 litre C4's range from 10,000 down to 5,000 depending on whether it is an early 2007 (what reg? 57, 07 or 56) and what trim level (SX, VTR etc.) Since you say it is an auto I can only an SX listed which is 1.6 and automatic.
Price should be no higher than the range 6,700 to 7,500 for a C4 1.6i 16V SX 5d Auto. So 6,000 seems like a decent deal.

I'm going to agree to differ here, because you know everyone's circumstances and intentions and I do not.
