Do we need planning permission?

We are hoping to do some alterations to our house which would include
knocking through in to the conservatory to make a big kitchen diner area.
What i want to know is because it is being made part of the house would we need to get planning permission? We didn't get planning permission when we built the conservatory.
Thanks Viv

Best thing to do is look on your council website, if you dont find it there I would ring them and ask for the building control dept.
I guess you would need some sort of permission or other.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You need Building Regulations approval to knock through into your conservatory if you intend to have no separating doors on it.I am the Cat who walks alone0

No, you don't need planning permission as it's purely internal work. You may need Building Regs though. You say you didn't get planning permission when you built the conservatory - I presume you mean you didn't need it, rather than you didn't bother applying...!0

Oh yes lol, it wasn't needed.0

It is brick to probably above the knee which is insulated then glass. We do intend putting a large radiator in there, we currently use an oil filled small heater which gets it quite warm in about 1/2 an hour.
Do you know this from experience? Any advice is appreciated.0 -

Your non-linky link goes to your own website where there is a page providing a link to the government's planning portal - http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/hhg/houseguide.htmlI am the Cat who walks alone0
