Fuel Problem - Ford Focus

Hi i have a ford focus 1.8 TDCI 53 plate, i filled the car up at tesco with diesel on the 8th January and used it all week end, on the Sunday i broke down with the car just cutting out on me, i got it towed home using tesco breakdown (not very good!!) and changed the fuel filter and air filter, my boyfriends brother in law came out and said he thinks one of my injectors have gone. We are not entirely convinced about this, as my father in law has it doesn't smell like diesel, could it be contaminated?? It will run ok at 2,000 rpm but once it drops below that it cuts out, can anyone help with this problem??

Hi, We have just recently had exactly the same problem with our car here in Spain (same make, same model, same year!) It happened on three different occasions,over a period of 5 months, one of them on the Paris ring road in rush hour traffic

Anyway, after numerous trips to the local garage to try to identify the problem we eventually took it to a diesel specialist and ended up having to have the fuel injectors replaced. We have had the car back about 5 weeks now and although its early days, the car is running well and hasn't cut out as yet.

Yes someone did tell me they think it could be one of my injectors, ive just rung up my local garage to see if they can plug it on computer for me, fingers crossed but i know im looking at about £500.00 to get it fixed! which isn't good as i can't afford this!!!
