Beko washing machine has stopped draining

my nearly 3 year old Beko has randomly decided to stop draining itself... randomly... it is not every wash and it doesn't seem to matter what cycle it is on.

Does this sound terminal?
Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

  • Hi,

if it's spinning but not draining, I would think it's something wrong with the pump, if it's not spinning, then it's something wrong with the motor, probably needs new brushes.

Yes, I would guess it's something in the pump filter with those symptoms, clean that out first before trying anything else.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • i've seen this caused by the pump so i would first check the filters for this if fitted first.

i've also seen this caused by a faulty pressure switch. there isn't much to go wrong with a pressure switch; they are simple little devices that meassure the head of pressure in the drum to tell it when it is full and empty. most common fault with them is that the tube to the switch has become clogged with crystals from the soap powder/softener/etc.
power down the machine, remove the pannel from the top of the machine, find the switch (will normally be above the drum with a tube from the outlet at the bottom of the drum running up to it), then gently pull off the tube from the pressure switch end and blow into the tube pushing air into the drum to clear any blockage. quite a bit of lung power seems to normally do the trick although i had to remove the other end of the tube and poke into the hole on the outlet with a screwdriver once to clear a blockage.

    cheers, GreenSheep
