are you looking in wireless settings network key thats what i used to set up mine it is case sensitive0

You need to use the WEP/WPA key set up during the router configuration (or provided for you on a bit of card if it's from Sky or someone like that), not the password you use to login to the router's admin interface.
Might be stating the obvious, but this is a common error.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

On your laptop open up your browser and go to http://192.168.0.1 and enter the username "admin" and the password "password". These are the usual Netgear settings, check the bottom of your router to make sure.
Then go into the wireless settings and look at the wireless key given there - that is the one your router is currently using.0 -
Not very techy minded, it took me a while before the penny dropped that the Netgear password was all in upper case and I had to touch the upper case button on the ipod keypad before each letter. Hope you get it sorted soon - it's great fun!0

Ok, step by step:
1. Click here: http://192.168.1.1
On a generic netgear router, this will take you to the login page. Your configuration may vary slightly, if that link does not work for you, post back and I'll show you how to find yours.
2. Enter the username/password for your router. (admin/admin by default). CASE SENSITIVE.
3. Click 'Wireless Settings' under the 'Setup' heading.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of that page, and you will see the 'Network Key' in a box. Write this down carefully.
5. Input this as your WPA key into your iPod.
Enjoy. If all goes well, you're now hooked up on your iPod !Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Then enter a new WPA encryption key and apply/save it. Log out and then enter the same key on all your wireless devices (including the iTouch) to reconnect to your router.
And make sure this time that you keep a (secure) note of the encryption key.No free lunch, and no free laptop
