I keep getting chucked off the internet.
I'm Vista/AOL with a netgear router (wired to the PC).
DH has his PS3 wireless & he gets chucked off at the same time.
I have to turn it off completly (everything to do with the PC) & reboot, sometimes a couple of times, to get back on.
I do the AOL "fix" that it offers (rebuild your current location) but that doesn't work.
I only have one of those splitter things on the router socket, I have two other sockets, but I've never had them on them before.
Do you think its the router (it is a few years old now) or the splitters?
Anyone else been having connection problems the past month or so?

first, you may be getting disconnected due to noise on the line - EVERY phone socket needs to be filtered.
Also, have a look at the advice here on optimising your house wiring for broadband (increased speeds are a result of less noise):-
http://www.dslzoneuk.net/socket.php
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
A good starting point would be to unscrew your master BT socket and plut the (filtered) modem/router directly into that with nothing else connected. That'll eliminate anything else on the internal wiring to your home from being the cause.0

Do you mean to only use the mater socket for the router or do you mean something else?0 -
I guess I need to get more filters, ebay the best place?
Are they just called filters or is there anything else?0 -

sorry, me not being clear,
I mean unscrew the faceplate from your master socket and use the internal test point that disconnects everything else in your house -just tempoarily, if it makes no difference to the problem go back to how everything was and investigate something else for the cause.
if the problem goes away then something connected to or the internal wiring itself is causing the problem and you can work round disconnecting other things in turn.0 -
If you keep getting chucked off, try disabling the media server option on the PS3. This seems to cause all kinds of problems for some reason, including knocking you off the internet for some people! (I can't even connect with it active)0
