Chiquitos Dunfermline Branch

Just wanted to put a bit of praise on here for this branch of Chiquitos. 20 odd of us visited last night for part of my hen night. They had set aside an area for us and had decorated it with baloons and the usual mexican paraphenalia without being asked. The waiter who was allocated to us was fantastic - made sure everyone had a drink and even though it was a big(ish) group nobody had to wait for their food. It was a really good night and I have also emailed Chiquitos themselves to tell the about it.:j

  • Don't waste your money. This is the furthest thing from "authentic" Mexican as you can get. A friend of mine (who's half mexican and lived in Texas before moving over here) went to see what it was like and has never seen anything so bad before. It's sad that this is what the British think is actual Mexican food.

If you like the food it doesn't matter whether it's authentic or not. I like authentic indian food but I also like the indian food you can get in the average indian takeaway. I do however know that it is not authentic.

I Love mexican food - and yes Chiquitos may not be authentic , but Is Frankie and Bennies an authentic New York diner? Not really but I still like it all the same. it all comes down to personal choice - so if you havent tried it - give it a go!

  • I agree that it isn't 'authentic' but it is still good food, so no problem really, as long as you don't expect it to be authentic.

The last thing I'd expect from a big chain like Chiquitos, to be honest, would be authenticity. It's Mexican style food, and it's unreasonable to expect otherwise.

I would expect it to be nice, enjoyable food though- I have yet to give them a try.
