We've been out with PIL for a lovely meal, food was lovely but abit expensive. A couple near us asked to move tables away from us because we had the kids with us. We still enjoyed ourselves.:D

I'd have asked to be moved too.. or just moved anyway.. I rarely go out without the children and I sure as heck don't want to listen to other peoples children twittering on while I eat. The fact you enjoyed yourselves should also be weighed against how much the other couple would have enjoyed themselves had they not moved.. they may have lost a baby recently, she could have had a miscarriage last week or maybe they were unable to conceive a much wanted child of their own.. sitting close to other children, especially a baby, however cute he may be, could have been very painful for them under those circumstances.

.. And I could happily murder the parents that allow their hcildren to wander around and run about when people are eating/serving.. downright irresponsible and dangerous..

my parents go to child free hotels when they are on holiday on their own...they come with us sometimes, but they deserve some peace and quiet now. And re the kids running about - you're absolutely right, Piggers...
it's very easy to 'judge' in these circumstances - vitriol on this subject can be found in the wedding threads on whether or not to invite children...having spent a greater part of my week with 26 of them I would prefer P&Q too!

ETA I talk to people on the the radio all the time - (I get very cross with Jeremy Vine;) and I have lovely chats with Stuart and Mark of an evening)
I shall worry when they answer back, although I did get MY name read out on the Radio again today because I got the word game again...

I'll be here, working to my own plan:

    This week:
sort out cupboard of stuff for sale
    investigate amazon selling
empty and sort the bathroom understairs cupboard
    [STRIKE]visit tile shop[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]return library books[/STRIKE]/[STRIKE]JL/return M&S[/STRIKE]
    return TKMaxx
[STRIKE]get up courage for a ski lesson
    book the ski lesson
    go to the ski lesson[/STRIKE]
    order sink tiles
    [STRIKE]cheque for trumpet lessons[/STRIKE]

There'll be more to come but brain dead from ironing and cheap tv.

    Valli - hugs sweetie

We have always taken stuff for the kids to do at the table in restaurants, colouring when they were little, now small games, packs of cards, dominions, IQ puzzle games, wordsearches the lot. I would never dream of my kids playing up in a restaurant and they'd happily be there a couple of hours.

I have found a new way to get rid of my carp - I post it to Pigpen ;)

I am really really really fed up - I feel so low and so lonely... since wednesday I have barely spoken to any adults... some at football today; mum Thurs. Fri and Sat though - nada. I go to work, shop, come home. Highlight of my month was 'the date' they have taken rolleyes and shrug away to stop ME using them :rotfl:

oh - I have spoken to my Flylady friends on these threads so THAT'S a plus...and chipped in on a game.
Maybe you should think about a Macaw - making sure you have some social me-time each week? It's something I try very hard with, as I'd quite happily become a hermit! This week I met a friend at the gym on Monday, had a committee meeting Tuesday, governor training course (ie not work) Wednesday, friend over Friday, saw sexymouse & her mum on Saturday. And for me, that's probably a record!

I try to have someone over once a week, go out and meet someone once a week and weekends I try to have people over one weekend a month and go away one weekend a month (although the snow kind of scuppered my plans this month... but I'll make one of them, as I have an old schoolfriend staying this Friday night!). You have to work at your social life as well as everything else...

I'm in this week... need something to do so I don't end up working 24/7...
