What price is worth paying for cheaper housing.....

Absolutely. This is something the bulls either don't get or don't care. Yes their house is increasing in value, but society is slowly degrading as more people are priced out and lose motivation to work.
What do you suggest the "bulls" do about it?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Nothing, but they seem incapable of admitting that there are many negative aspects the of rampant HPI that occurred during the noughties. There is a real "I'm alright Jack" mentality. There is no coincidence that many of them don't have children.0 -

And what will that actually achieve? It makes no difference to any of the debates on here, it's an uncontrollable side effect. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

But house prices can be partly controlled by government policy. Interest rates, property tax, putting house prices into inflation data etc. This Labour government chose to ignore HPI, insread of trying to control it and as a result their future core voters have been made poorer. To top it off, having had a massive financial collapse related to HPI, they are acrtively allowing it to happen again.0 -
I don't disagree with you but I still don't see what a "bull" can do about it.
So far all we have is "mention it whenever possible" but I'm not sure how that will help. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

JK, I'm not suggesting that the Bulls do anything about it. It just frustrates me that the Bulls refuse to admit that massive HPI is bad for society and that HPI must be encouraged at all costs.0 -
In the same way do "bears" admit that the 70% crash they wish for is bad for society? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
