How do you prefer to measure?

Having been reading recipes and baking today I noted I prefer to 'translate' all recipes in to cups, mainly because I find it quicker and easier even though at home my mum and gran used lb/oz and at school we use g/kg.

I like to weigh stuff. Cups are all different sizes. Ounces* aren't.
*And we'll have no smart-!!!!! comments about troy ounces, thank you very much!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Always used to use pounds and ounces but since becoming a baker I've 'gone metric' :TLess is more0

Depends - cups for everything... except butter which it is easier to do in grammesMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

For baking, I find the recipes work better in lb/oz - but for other things it's ok in kg/g. Bread HAS to be a pound of flour or it's wrong.
For liquids, I use cups - the US version as I have the right measures....0 -
g/kg but i like cups too.
I have to translate lb/oz's. I can't tell if the weight is 'right' for the mix0 -
Is there a standard cup size now? and if so where do I get one?

Cup sizes are as far as I know an American measurement - there is a thread called cup measures
I bought a set off ebay for £2-3 and they are invaluable. VEry handy as they also show ML measurements on, so I don't always need the big massive measuring jug. Similar to these ones
I am ok with lbs or ozsA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
