Hull to Rotterdam Ferry

Hi, I recently moved to Holland and I need to return to the UK so that I can drive my car over here on the weekend of 22nd/23rd/24th July.

My car is currently in Chester, so I was thinking of driving upto Hull to take the overnight ferry to Rotterdam.

The ferry is operated by P&O and if I try to book it on their website, it is coming up as approx £150. This is for a one-way ticket (which is all I need).

Does anyone know of any discount codes (from special offer adverts etc) that I could use on the P&O website?

Alternatively, are there any other websites or ferry routes/operators I could use?

Thanks for any suggestions!

dan

PS: I know a lot of special offers seem to run from Dover to Calais etc. But this isn't really practical for me, as any money saved would be offset in extra petrol costs (driving down south from Chester, then driving a few hundred miles north to Holland on the other side of the channel).

They do a lot of special offers out of season on that route but it is always expensive in the summer
You could look at DFDS Newcastle to Amsterdam route to see if that's any better

Thanks for the tip. Useful to know about the ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, especially as I'm living in Amsterdam!

Unfortunately that's coming out around the same price as Hull to Rotterdam.

I know the proces are likely to be higher in the peak season, but it just seems a bit pricey for a one-way ticket. Especially as I can get a ticket from Ramsgate to Oostende for around £40.......but that just means a lot more time spent on the road. So it's a case of swings and roundabouts really.

I rarely use the Hull ferries anymore purely because of the time they take & the amount of money I always end up spending whilst on-board. Last time I used it in April, I was on-board from 4pm until 8 the next morning.

I travel from Stockport [or from home in the NE] to all over Europe now pretty much exclusively via the tunnel.
It's only a couple of hundred miles up to Holland from Calais & a similar distance from the NW to Folkestone & it's all motorway, I've done Stockport to Eindhoven in 8 hours using the tunnel.

The tunnel is also difficult to get good prices in the summer but if you pick your time carefully you should be able to get it near £60.

I will say however, I don't have to pay for any of my fares or fuel so maybe I don't quite have your slant on things.

Yeah I tried the minicruise option, but it was still coming out about £130......still fairly pricey.
