Best feline renal food?

Just to update this in case anyone else happens along looking for renal food opinions.
I got some Hills K/D which he seems to really enjoy, if I mix it in with his Royal Canin he licks it out and leaves the Royal Canin (wee sod!), so to start him off I mix it in with two feeds and every third feed he gets is Royal Canin on it's own (he gets several small meals a day due to his dodgy tummy).
Just a word of warning though, I got the tinned version which is minced instead of chunks and after opening two tins of it can't stomach looking at it any more. It is the nastiest looking petfood I've ever seen _pale_ it's more pur!ed than minced... I was doing a good job of ignoring the squelching nose as it slurped out of the tin, I was even coping with the white lumps of fat... I merely hesitated at the blood spots... but when I scooped a fork full out last night and it stayed connected to the tin by a string of mucus my stomach did a summersalt and I was done for _pale_
So, unless you have a stomach like lead you might want to try the chunks in the pouches before trying the tins _pale_

I have an 11 year old female who has just been diagnosed with
Kidney Renal Disease. Getting over the shock of it all and slowly moving towards getting Kitty a better life...
Kitty's vet ordered Pepcid for Kitty but after 4 days of being on it, I am noticing that Kitty is listless, a bit dizzy and still not eating...I picked up some Tiny Tummies Gas drops for infants and have been giving her that in the afternoon....
I was just wondering if anyone used Pepcid or Zantac for their Kitties and how the kitty responded...My main question on a Friday night is can I go straight to Tiny Tummies and drop the pepcid or does the Pepcid/Zantac medicine do something else that gas drops will not do.....
Haven't found a lot of info on the web except here....Hoping so much someone has a nugget or 2 of info that can be shared with me....
Thank you so much....This forum is awesome
