Hi Guys,
I have just bought a Bose Accousimass 10. But didn't realise I needed a separate Amp until i got it home. Can any one recommend any decent amps that are on the cheap/reasonable side?
Thanks
Richard.

Didn't they ask you at the shop when you bought the set what amp you would be using to drive the speakers?0

It's an 8 / 10 year old product. Fantastical sound for size, needs at least AC3 Dolby. All speaker out's are only as good as their inputs, beautiful stuff though even ten years later.
Any modern receiver Amp such as Onkyo [ £200 ] or even older and cheap such as Sherwood [ £50 ] will do an excellent job.
Too heavy to post, so a patient [ couple of weeks ] ebay search within 50 miles of his house may well reward him with a £10 quid capable amp on "" collect only ""
N.B. as this is MSE anything you want can be had for next to nothing if you:
- search by postcode
- look for ""collect only""
- drive to collect make sure the product is ok!
- pay COD - easy peasy.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Unfortunately, Bose equipment doesn't have a fantastic sound for the price. Stuff from any decent manufacturer at half the price blows it out of the water.Too heavy to post, so a patient [ couple of weeks ] ebay search within 50 miles of his house may well reward him with a £10 quid capable amp on "" collect only ""
I've purchased amps on eBay before; they're certainly not too heavy to post.N.B. as this is MSE anything you want can be had for next to nothing if you:

- look for ""collect only""
- drive to collect make sure the product is ok!

As a buyer on eBay, it's a bad idea to pay cash for anything.0 -
Is Bose no good then? I liked them as sounded great. And looked the business. I wanted small White speakers and these fit the bill. Are there others cheaper and better sound? Where shall I look? 30 day trial on these.0

If you like the sound of them, that's fine. We all hear things differently, so one man's trash is another man's treasure.
But, just be aware that there's absolutely nothing special about Bose speakers, and there's absolutely no reason they should cost as much as they do.
Bose spend more on marketing than every other speaker manufacturer combined; I think that should tell you where your money is going.
If you want to hear some other speakers, head down to your local Richer Sounds or other retailer and try them out.0
