I originally thought I was on the electoral role at my current address as I registered a postal vote at my current address to vote at my previous address as I have a good relationship with the elected member of parliment.
I found out though that did not count and I needed to register at my current address normally.
when i had applied for credit the person who told me i was declined said i should have tried using my old address (my parents address to apply) but since I have lived at my own address over a year and have all my other credit links at this address surely I couldn't apply like that and surely it couldnt benefit me as they would have to look at both addresses.

I think what they meant was that you should have used all addresses for last 3 years on any application.0
