Hi All
Hope I can get some recommendations from you wonderful people!
I am really wanting a long weekend away soon. I have 2 dogs who I would like to take with me. I live just outside Preston and only want to travel around 1 hour (in a car!) The obvious choice is somewhere in the Lakes or somewhere in Yorkshire! I would ideally like a self catering lodge, with nice walks close by, just somewhere peaceful really!
I have seen a couple of places when I looked on Google, but I always prefer to have personal recommendations!
Thanks for any help given!! :T

What about Ennerdale? Specifically the Low Gillerthwaite Field centre?
Definitely a bit different.

My sister-in-law has stayed in several properties in the lakes with their boxer dog.
All the properties were booked through Lakelovers. We have stayed with them several times too. Checkout the individual properties on Tripadvisor before you book, as some of them are better than others.0 -
We really enjoyed Grange-over-sands last year, and why not try Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales, its beautiful with lots of walks etc.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

We stayed in a beautiful hotel with our dog, at Bo'ness right on the edge of Lake Windermere, garden for the dog and wonderful surroundings, it was The Olde English I believe, one of the McDonald chain. I think they charged a fiver for the dog. Parking at a premium in Lake District towns, the hotel had a private car park up the road.
Ah, the Olde England - here is the link:
