Natiowide Credit Card

I'm disputing a transaction worth £286 on my Nationwide Credit Card account.

They can't take details over the phone, so 2 weeks ago they said they would send out some forms I have to fill in and post back.

They didn't arrive so I called last week and was told they must have been lost in the post, so they would send some more.

A week later and the forms are still not here. I've just rung back and they are blaming the post again, although I haven't had any problems with any other post and my other half (postman) is not aware of any significant postal problems that would cause 2 sets of forms to go missing.

I feel like they are just stringing me along. I just want the issue resovled as it's a lot of money to me.

Is there anything else I should do, or should I just forget it and put it down to experience?

Ask them to e-mail you the forms if they continue to fail to arrive.

    Are their statements getting through??

You can email them as Marky says and they will have respond. In fact, as it's secure messaging, they should be able to go into more detail with you than over the phone.

The secure messaging on the Nationwide website is only for non credit card queries. If you send a secure message for credit card queries, you get a generic reply saying contact CC customers services by phone (or this was the case last time I tried it a few months ago).

You could off course just send your own letter explaining the situation (i.e. the disputed transaction), which is what I've done in the past and they were happy with that. Just make sure you send it by registered post.

Also could you get them to fax the forms to you?

  • Thank you for your help.

I've been told Nationwide don't have access to a fax machine or e-mail, so the forms can only be sent out by post. A third set is being put in the post today.

My statements are getting here on time, and I recently got a new card (old one expires end of this month) and PIN for the chip and pin machines without any problems.

Will try the letter option too and see how I get on.
