Bloody Bank

I am really upset with my bank today, after all the trying that we and the other half have been doing, with trying to sort out our money, because the mortgage was the 4th Transcation to go out on the 1st May they didn't pay it because it would of taken up over by £50 on the overdraft and have only just told us, I am so upset and wish we could just sort out our money once and for all.

I have given up smoking which is now 4 weeks, sold items on ebay, done car boots. Now doing the avon which last month was a pretty good order, not sure about this order thou at the moment.

I just want to curl up and cry

you seem to be doing all you can, "Banks" they are just after "profit" adn none of them seem to care that it's costing you loads of ££'s and putting you further into debt. I know only to well as last year in one month I had "Bank Charges" that was more than my pay...hope things start to get better for you soon.
 Keep your Chin up.. it can only get better
 I'm one of those people who was born to have money,
    but I just don't have any!
  • Sorry not the 1st May the 1st June getting my months mixed up. I haven't got the statement for June yet thou

We have been so silly, feel really stupid

  • The other half today is looking into reclaiming the bank charges, which we have gone through and it is currently £2500 which they have charged us, and guess what that is what the overdraft is, which goes down £150 a month. He is also going to phone and complain which he tried to do last night, but was told by a very unhelpful lady that it is up to us to keep the account in order. Which is right don't get me wrong, but as he stated we have been on the phone to them about the joint account overdraft and trying to out and some help from them wouldn't go a miss. She didn't reply with answer to that one.

GOD I just want this mess to be sorted so I can enjoy life again.

  • I know I'm only repeating old info but claim your charges back through Consumer Action Group. And if poss, change banks to one that gives you a better overdraft, and definitely complain to them and see if you can get compensation for their crap communication. I'm sure you're doing all this anyway, but don't let them get you down, this will pass
Student loan no more ;) paid off
  • Sounding a bit thick here, but if I changed my bank then I would have to arrange for the overdraft at new bank to be the same as this old account so I could pay that off and start a fresh or is it not that easy.

Hope that I have made myself clear

Aliance & leicester say they would match your OD, and its interest free for a year. Ive changed recently ( im happy to refer incidentally, PM me if you are interested)

I found A&L very swift in setting up accounts too.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

ONLY if you use their switching service ie let them move your DDs etc across. Knowing someone who used to work in a banks complatin department before I hired her (hehe) then this si the one things they used to get the MOST complaints about with new customers. Something nearly always goes wrong.

I refused to let them move my DDs and did it myself and they now want to do a credit check to up my OD to what my lloyds one was. PAH!
    I have £900 on A&L that I don't use and £2500 on Lloyds I don't use either... it's just my little safety net :)
