    I've used your link and now have IE8. I shall now retrace the posts to see how to stop suggested/previously looked for things from coming up.

    I hope I'm not boring people, (Mrs islandman is fed up with me sitting here, lol), anyway, I've looked round and am still at a loss how I should stop & clear all suggestions arriving in the search engine bar, irrespective of which search engine I use. Normally it's google UK followed by bing.

    I've retread "Closed's" suggestion of going through start>run>regedet to no avail.

    The thing is, whilst it really is of no real importance, it does bug me and I'd dearly like to resolve it.

    Whilst all this has been going on, I am trying to get to the bottom of another (some would say "minor", but irritating thing). Recently whilst using Picasa3, they invited me to update, now I get the facial recognition thing which I don't want.

    Some guy in the states directed me to a site that lists all the picasa releases and I've installed and uninstalled so many throughout the day. I managed to find a release that didn't have the facial thing and thought it was great, then on returning it automatically did an update am I now have the latest version along with facials, bar humbug!

    Under here:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{1B65B055-9737-4F68-B799-8257FD2B3086}]

    If you can't find 1B65B055-9737-4F68-B799-8257FD2B3086 look for the google subkey.

    Do you have this?

    "DisplayName"="Google"
    "URL"="http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q={searchTerms}&meta="
    "SuggestionsURLFallback"="http://clients5.google.com/complete/search?hl={language}&q={searchTerms}&client=ie8&inputencoding={inputEncoding}&outputencoding={outputEncoding}"
    "FaviconURLFallback"="http://www.google.com/favicon.ico"
    "ShowSearchSuggestions"=dword:00000000

    No 1, I have never done nor know how to do a screen capture.

    No 2, yes I agree, maybe I should stop.
