hi
ive noticed some people have more than one ebay account- whether it be one for selling, and one for buying or whatever...
anyway- all my family and friends know my ebay username, and sometimes have a nosey what im selling/bidding on. i'd like to have another account to use for buying pressies etc, but whenever i try to create one, it tells me my details are already registered......
so, how do you go about getting a 2nd ebay account?
many thanks in advance

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

You can create other ebay accounts as long as you use a different email address for each one.
Just sign out and give them a different email address and it should work ok.
I checked with ebay ages ago to see if they officially allowed this and they said it was fine.

but doesnt that mean you can create a new account if you were to have your account suspended?
kinda goes against the actions really0 -

Quite correct, otherwise how would you be able to shill bid? You'd have to rely on friends and they might not always be about at the right time.
Now let's see who has a sense of humour.0 -
^i'v actually got a friend to do that for me save putting a reserve price (and footing the high fee's) *hangs head in shame*0

I think it's against the rules to create a new account while suspended, but there's nothing to stop you continuing to use non-suspended accounts. My TV is broken!

Actually there is:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-previously-suspended.html
A person who is restricted on eBay loses certain membership privileges. By trying to avoid suspension or restriction through using another exisiting account or registering for a new one, you are in breach of eBay's policy.
So, you can have as many ebay accounts as you want as long as they don't interact. If one account gets suspended and you are caught using another then your suspension will almost certainly either be increased in length or made permanent.

I personally find it invasive that you can check on what people are bidding on (whilst listing is in progress) if you know there id0

Unfortunately the facility is there and easy to find. I often check out what my buyers are doing..especially if they are slow payers or have poor feedback. I also use it to check sellers to see what they have sold in the past.

Ah, I was confused. So many people post on the ebay forums with alternative accounts when they've been suspended, I thought it was permitted
