Its very simple to stop the calls, inform the estate agent that you no longer have any dealings with them and that should they persist you will call the police to stop the harassment.
You had not exchanged and therefore were not bound to anything. I would keep my new estate agent informed with a quick heads up as the jungle telegraph will paint a much worse picture of you.Don't forget to tell everyone you know not to use the nightmare estate agents truthfully, word of mouth can be a killer.
I am amazed that an estate agent has tried to sell a property that is unsaleable as the occupiers could not clear the charges. How they have bought of one of the charges would be very interesting to know, I can bet it would be with part of the deposit.
Having said that I am amazed, I have had an estate agent try to sell me a property that was part of an area to be demolished for redevelopment.0 -

Just withdraw in writing and state no further discussion is required and no further contact is to be made. Keep a copy.
As for the new deal, yes, get your story in first.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
the new EA already knows the story, I was up front about the whole situation - basically said that the sale proceeds would not cover the charges and we had decided not to proceed. Informed them when we made our offer on the new place that we had an offer on another house but would be withdrawing it due to the above problem and that we would be withdrawing our offer whether or not our new offer was accepted. Which we did. I have been nothing but honest with everyone, but I am aware that not everyone behaves like this!
Do we have to formally withdraw in writing or will the phone call / email from solicitor suffice?
