Had multiple warnings from some 'personal security' flag up potentially multiple viruses/tojans etc on one of our laptops today.
Ran latest version of Avast with no detection of anything.
Then following the early parts of this thread did the following.
Ran Malwarebytes (latest version) and came up with this log:-
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.44
Database version: 3620
Windows 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1
Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18865

Rebooted then downloaded Hijack This but couldnt get this to open and scan (running Vista).
Question is, have I done enough to clean up the system?
Incidentally, have realised that these new laptops dont actually have Vista SP 2 on them so abou to go and download that now.
Much appreciated if anyone could advise please.

are you using a 64bit version of windows?
if you are, then that was fine to leave on the system as it was just a false positive (stick it into google and you'll see what i mean)0 -

.
I assumed the highlighted text means it had Antivirus Pro 2009 or Personal Security infection

seeing the poster has already run Malwarebytes then combofix is requiredEx forum ambassador
