oooooh bid retractions

A bidder has just retracted their bid on one of my items and their excuse is that they entered the wrong amount.
They only bid the next minimum bid so it couldn't have been the wrong amount and it makes me soooo mad.
I've just checked and they have retracted 36:eek: bids in the last 6 months.
Thanks for listening
Rant over:D

How do I block him from bidding on anymore of my items?

Just exclude them from your other listings.

Go here to block the bids:

    http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?bidderblocklogin

Then go here to import the invalid bid retraction:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/invalid-bid-retraction.html

I emailed him to ask why he had retracted his bid and he said that he had just won an auction for an identical item and there wasn't that option on the retraction form. I replied that there wasnt that option because it was against ebay rules.
Not heard anything back but have checked his story and he hasnt won an identical item, he has bid on a cheaper newly listed one!!!
    Ive just reported him.
    thanks for your advice :D

some buyers do this to see what your reserve is!

also they try 'bid shielding' which I (and I hope others) won't explain here, you will need to go look it up

I had someone do that to me for the first time on the sunday 10 days after the BIN 5p listing day. Ebay was stoopidly slow and with half an hour left she sent me an email to say " didnt look at size before i bid, dont want this item, sorry" It right narked me as she wasnt the highest bidder anyway and she gave the reason to ebay as incorrect amount entered.

Gave me a very stressfull ten minutes trying to get it removed!

How do you find out what someone is bidding on ?? or retracted bids from anyway ...

If you look at someone's feedback page it shows you the number of bid retractions they've made.

You can see what they've been bidding on by doing an advanced search and searching for items by bidder.

If they weren't they highest bidder why didn't you just leave it and just tell her that she needn't worry as she's been outbid?
