  • bottlegreen and other cordials like that including the orgainc ones have loads of sugar in and aren't suitable for diabetics (or slimmers).

My vote would go for lemon and ginger and redbush teas. Lovely!

  • i'm diabetic too. i drink gallons of sugar free squash, well watered down. not with fizzy water though. tap water is fine. and lots of ice!!!!
  • I've been a type 1 diabetic (insulin injections) for 20 years, diagnosed when I was 7, so may be a bit different but all diabetics should have a healthy diet. I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, never have been, but I do drink fizzy drinks, as long as they are diet, never ever drink full sugar fizzy drinks as they'll play havoc with your sugar level.

Also, how about a glass of water with ice and half a lime squeezed into it, mix it in and tastes great ( I guess you could add the fruit of your choice, i tried squeezed strawberries and rasberries and was nice), don't go down the cordial route as they are pumped full of sugar, and even the "sugar free" fruit juices still have some natural sugar in them, they just mean no sugar have been added artificially!

Edit: you can get huge 5 litre bottles of supermarket bottled water for a quid if you don't like tap water, I live in Scotland, we have the best tap water in the world!
  • A cup of OXO, not exactly sure how health it is, but it is lovely.;)
I am pleased to give hairdressing help or advice, but a thank you doesn't go a miss.
    :D
  • After years of drinking diet coke my mum informed me that "it's really bad for depleting the body of calcium!" I was horrified and began to search for another drink to fill me up -I'm afraid that my offering is hot ribena (diet) and twinnings lemon and ginger tea and I really like a milkshake with skimmed milk with apple and peanut butter (feel free to go bleugh!!!) but there are some great ideas so far -good luck!
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:
