Fizzy or still water with a dash or two of pure lemon juice
Herb or fruit tea - red fruits are strongest, esp rosehip.

fresh juices.. could even juice your own!
fruit teas.. I like the raspberry and cranberry, fennel tea is nice if you can deal with the smell lol. Peppermint upsets my tummy.
I drink ribena.. it is also very good made with hot water.
Or you could just stick to wine/spirits etc (not lager or cider.. too much sugar.)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I drink loads of sparkling water but am not diabetic and drink it with diluting juice. Would that suit you? Very thirst quenching and no caffeine. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Thanks, everyone. Will give your suggestions a try.Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time0

Red Bush tea would be my choice if absolutely had to do without my ground coffee :eek:0

with regards milk, even skimmed milk is high in sugar (lactose), which again isn't suitable in large quantities for diabetics.
i stick to diet drinks (although again we're supposed to keep an eye on caffeine intake) and tea with a little milk....
try decaffeinated tea and coffee maybe?
I have never heared this before, and I am type 2 diabetic on Meds. :eek:Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.

How about Barleycup? I used to buy it from healthfood shops and make it like instant coffee.0

Wakeup cup with guarano instead of caffine is very uplifting.
I also drink redbush.One life.0 -
plain tap water but filtered, it tastes lovely0

I only have one cup of coffee a day and don't drink tea. This is mainly because caffine doesn't help my endometriosis (or probably any other illnesses, just adds more stress to the body!)
I have Barleycup which has already been mentioned, I make it with soya milk and it tastes like a very weak coffee, I think it tastes odd with cows milk.
I also have herbal teas, in the cupboard at the moment are peppermint, raspberry leaf, fennel, ginger, Bengal spice, green tea and jasmine, liquorice and camoile with honey and vanilla. All very good for my particular illness, and all except green tea I think delicious and mostly full of flavour.
Fruit juice, try blackcurrant or apple made up half and half with hot water - yum!
I also put a few pieces of fresh or frozen root ginger in a mug and pour on boiling water. Great for colds as well as being delicious!
I love BottleGreens cordials - lemongrass and ginger or elderflower are my favourites.
Also ginger cordial - lovely just with water, but delicious with pineapple or apple juice! I buy it from Lakeland, but I'm sure other places do it.ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away
