anyone else only having one bridesmaid?

I'm only going to be having my daughter as bridesmaid, she will be a week off being 4 when we get married (providing we get the date we're hoping for). Do you think it'll be ok? I just need to keep expenses down and don't want to be drawn into having to ask people because I've asked someone else who is equally close to me...if that makes sense?! :rotfl:

I am only have 1 bridesmaid.
My DD will not quite be 3 when we get married but she acts more like a 5 year old.
I really dont see the point in having every girl in the family as a bridesmaid. As it never ends and you always end up leaving someone out. I want my daughter to feel just as special and unique as i will.
Although technically my 4 month old is a bridesmaid too but i cant see her walking down the aisle with me.
My son is a mini best man. He is having the same style suit as my DF but they are wearing slightly different jackets. Again i dont see why my DF should have to wear the same as every other male at the wedding - we're not at school. He too should be able to express himself.
My dad is wearing a kilt as he's scottish and the proper best man is an officer in the airforce and will be wearing his dress uniform.
We've added in our invites that we are quite happy for guests to wear shorts & t-shirts is they want (weather permitting) so that they to can be them selves and comfortable. We dont want to make our guests feel thatthey have to go out and buy a complete new outfit unless they want to.
My brother turned up to my mums wedding last year in shorts & t-shirt then changed into a borat mankini, he spent far to long in the sun when he was serving in afgan, TBH we didnt expect any different and if he had turned up in a suit, it just wouldnt have been him. Great conversation point and adds an interesting twist tot he photo's.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -

i think its lovely you want to have her and that makes it even more special that its just her. Just bear in mind that the Bm and best man are usually the witnesses so be sure to have asked someone befor the big day to step in for your daughter;)would love to win an ipad!

Im only having one bridesmaid - it was 1 or 8! I have a circle of 8 friends and if i didnt make a decision on just 1 it would have been all of them and that isnt very MSE!

I'm having 3 and to be honest with the hassles i'm having with them i wish i was having one, lol. If i had a daughter, i would just have had her and it would have been so much simpler. My eldest is currently refusing to wear a morning suit so i offered him to be bridesmaid but funnily enough he didn't take me up on that either0

thanks everyone
there will be plenty of people able to be witnesses lol
my little man will be 2 and will be in a suit so I guess he'll be a pageboy type thing....trying to work out how we'll keep him still :rotfl:can see us holding him while saying our vows :rotfl:0 -

I am only having one, my daughter also 12 (but will be 13 by wedding date)
AND just bought yet another dress for her in the sales (she wants a 'prom' dress for the evening as wearing a proper dress for the actual wedding) as preferred it to the one she chose! Luckly it was in the sales £13.50 from £45
Anyone need a size 12 pink dress :rotfl::rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

Oooh send me a pic of it please Franny, I've not got Sians dress yet!
Steve got me the Cosmo brides mag the other day and there was a dress in there Sian liked, which was from Tammy and was £22!! I thought OMG what a bargain, went on the BHS/Tammy site and it was reduced to £7.80! NEarly had a heart attack at how cheap it was but they didn't have her size, typical!
If I don't see anything beforehand, we're gonna look in the July sales in Coast and Debenhams etc, see if we can get her something then, but the way it's going, her dress is gonna cost more than mine!:rotfl:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
