Dulux Decorator Centres

Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Paint of a high quality (unlike stuff sold by some of the DIY chains) and a 10% discount card available at the moment.

With paint the old adage that you get what you pay for has always rung true for me.

  • I agree to a certain point, however I just wish we could go back to decent paint and get rid of all this 2010 compliant rubbish. 1 step forward and 5 back as far as I'm concerned.

So is the dulux paint sold at the D centre better than that sold in DIY stores? What makes it different?
    Thanks

should read unlike some of the stuff sold by the sheds. Then I'd agree with you.

Yep - heres an example. 2.5 litres Dulux Type X - DDC Price £ 37.15 Inc VAT, exactly the same stuff in Shed Y £ 34.98 Inc VAT. Price in my local merchants £ (well a bit better than the shed anyway). Guess where I buy it?

Its the product people pay for not the fancy front window and yes I do have a DDC card thanks.

    Cheers

Paint sold at ddc is trade, giving better coverage and opacity than DIY quality.

I have heard that even Dulux trade is sheds isn't the same as sold in Dulux centre

I use Dulux centre sometime but they can be pricey at times with out offers

Last year bought 2 lots of Dulux trade weathershield for £16 each + postage off ebay same paint was £30 in Dulux, granted wasn't much choice but happen to have the colour I wanted. Its like cream cheese when you use it very thick paint

  • As well as the better-known Dulux brand, they have ICI Glidden paint, which is also excellent.

Would be better expressed as trade spec paint wherevere you buy it from gives better coverage and opacity than DIY spec.

Mmmmmm 'kay. You shouldn't believe everything you hear. How many production lines do you think they have and the company is rather over resourced in that area now anyway.

    Cheers
