I have just bought a Samsung MP3 Video Player (Product code YP - Q2J CB).
On the packaging it says that it supports the BBC iplayer. I have downloaded a program off iplayer, and have tried to copy this over. However it is not copying and the error it is showing says that there is a direct show filter error.
Does anyone have any ideas what this error is?
Many thanks.

I highly doubt it supports iplayer. It is only a mp3 with no built in video formats.
Supported file formatsAudio: MP3, WMA, Ogg, FLAC

I think you are possibly looking at the wrong one. Here's a link to the product on Amazon.

Apparently, looking on a couple of obsure forums, it is a well known issue with this model. It's going back to the shop tomorrow!£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0 -
It presumably uses some sort of Microsoft OS. DirectShow filters are a sequence of generally seperate programmes that each perform a stage in translating a media file into sound and/or video. The error means that at least one stage in the process - probably the one that recognises and decodes the video stream - has failed.
Get_iPlayer can retrieve various formats from iPlayer, so maybe you could try some different ones to see if any are compatible.0 -
Do you have the latest firmware? http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/search/supportSearchModelResult.do?menu=SP00&searchWord=yPQ2JCB&default_searchInputBox_value=Enter+model+number+or+keywords&searchInputBox=yP-Q2JCB&find_button=
And you may have to use the software that came with the player to download/convert it properlySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
It's a Samsung Q2 - it supports wmv. Just download the mobile IPlayer wmv then drag and drop it onto the video folder of the Q2.
You will have to play the file in WMP for a few seconds to acquire usage rights, but then there should be no issue. Don't let WMP try to sync it to the Q2, just drag and drop.
Make sure also that it is in MTP mode (you'll find it under settings). For anything else ie dragging and dropping audio files, switch it back to UMS(MSC).I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Clearly you don't know what you're talking about - are there any modern DAPs short of the shuffle, Clip, U5 and Sony stick players that don't do video?
Stick with something you know.
How I love my P3 - if only it was an mp4 player lmao... Video codecs are straightforward and something I know about.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks Dreamnine. Tried what you have suggested, unfortunately now getting an error message saying that the file not supported.
I'm going to try downloading another programme, as I can't remember if I had originally let WMV sync it to the Q2, on my first attempt to copy it over.
Esqui - thanks did have the latest firmware.£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0
