Hiya all,
Does anyone know if there is a deposit charged when you hire a bike at CP,
The reason for asking is, we are off to longleat on mon - havnt been for about 5 years but we always used to find abandoned bikes at the car parks due to no deposit being charged and people who couldnt be arsed to return them to the cycle centre.
Had free bikes for 3-4 years on the trot and couldnt believe they didnt cotton on as it wasnt only us benifitting.
Probrably changed now though, we are taking 3 bikes anyway

Longleat have replaced all their bikes in recent years. All the bikes have a barcode that is scanned when you hire them so I guess if you don't return them it will be charged to the account you hired them under.0

Just got back from a midweeker,
As i said earlier ,we took our bikes but they obviously havnt changed their policy as Dumped bikes were everywhere on monday afternoon .
even morso on fri am at the carparks.
Just borrow a bike for the week but take your own lock.0 -
so how much does it cost to hire one then? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ive just priced up for 2 kids (they are 11 but over 1.50cm) it is a small adults bike at £24 for a weekend in March, some say they have gears but these don't specifiy, Longleat without gears will be a nightmare. The other childrens bikes are all too small. Am thinking it may just be easier to take their bikes.0

If you are going to hire two adult bikes it may be worth you looking at their flying start package (I did this last time I went to Longleat).
It gives you a voucher for two adult bikes and also gives you access to your lodge at 2pm (queues can be terrible at Longleat) along with loads of 'essentials' delivered to your lodge from £59
