  • I really can't afford to drink the way I do but somehow you do afford it don't you? I find myself at the supermarket buying basic this and economy that to save pennies even though truth be told I prefer some of the branded goods (Heinz baked beans mm). But when I get to the wine aisle I don't hesitate to take advantage of Mr S buy 6 bottles get 5% off :o and I usually have to buy another bottle (or two) at the corner shop before I do my weekly shop because I've run out . Crazy!! but no more. It's my birthday in a few days; I'm not going to say which one but it's a pretty advanced age ;) I don't think my body can deal with the alcohol the way it used to so here I am. Thank you for the welcome I wish I'd 'stuck my head up' earlier.

Welcome Icandothis from me as well.

Jo: Hope it all went well for you today

    Fay: How exciting!!!

I am so cross with myself for not going running today but I feel like I could fall asleep standing up so thought I might do more harm than good. Need to pop into the shop on the way back from picking DD up but I shouldn't have any bells tonight as I am determined to get started with study books. Despite that early night for me as don't want to be feeling this tired for the rest of the week. And definitely going running tomorrow.

So I am declaring going for 1 MAD please Shaggy

Welcome Icandothis - I lurked for ages on here before I took the plunge. Everyone's lovely and supportive - and it really helps to pop on here and read other people's tips on life without alcohol. Like you, I'd like to just enjoy an odd one here and there but I know I have to be careful cos it's a slippery slope.
