Anyone ever done creative writing on holiday

Looking back on my old photo albums I came across accounts of couple or holidays where I had done a lot of creative writing and research before I went. I was single and not working at the time and it was a real treat to be able to indulge.
I went on an Explore holiday to Moorish Andalusia in Spain, truly stunning visit. Having just been on a creative writing course, I fully indulged my love of words and not enjoyd looking back at my journal. We visited Granada, Cazorla, Seville, Malaga and Cordoba and I fell in love (literally and metaphorically) with the old Spain.
I just wanted to know if anyone has had a simillar experience. Now I am married with kids, the days of ample time seem far away and I remember this with fondness.
