Club Med Vent

Options
I attempted to book a holiday on the Club Med web site, which went all the way through, then an error occurred after the credit card bit.

So, not sure if it booked or not (no email confirmation), I decided to phone them, as I'm not taking a risk with that sort of money, and when I tried to book again, the holiday had gone up £500!!!

On their web page it says:

"Our call centre is now based in the UK for a more personal and speedy service".

So far I've been on hold over 25 mins...

If they're this hard to contact just to book something, are they going to be a nightmare for everything else?!?!?!

To make it worse, they're playing a Hawaiian riff on repeat every 20 seconds. By my calculations, I've now listened to it at least 75 times!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

After 45 minutes on hold, I finally got to speak to someone, who sounded like they had a hangover, and seemed somewhat annoyed that they had to answer the phone.

Yup, they could see I'd tried to book, but the flight had since been sold, and would I like to book it at the higher price?

Anyone would think they weren't that keen on selling holidays, so I think I shall take my custom elsewhere...

Well if you now have nightmares about your experience consider suing for Post Traumatic Stress I think the Hawaiian Riff will be the clincher :D

I had the same problem yesterday, needed to pay balance on the holiday and the payment section of their website went down. 20 minutes waiting on the phone.

I did tell them how unhappy I was about that although I do understand that generally most people use the website to book and of a weekend they only have skeleton staff on.

Regarding the price unfortunately unlike other holiday companies they only book flights when you make the booking and therefore if certain seats are sold or airlines change their prices this affects your holiday price until you actually book. Something similar happened to myself this year, shouldn't have waited that extra day to book, kicked myself but serves me right for being indecisive.

I also took this better having used them last year to go to Val Thorens and I know that their customer service on holiday is fantastic and really can't be faulted, they are definitely well worth the money

Not MSE , but if I am spending thousands on a holiday ( booked last week)
I'm not buying on line, I want a reputable travel agent , to sit me down , and do all the work for me . Yes i know it will cost more , but sanity comes at a price,

I would take a better bank balance over sanity any day :D

Yes, I think I'm going to take this option. I went with Thomson a few years ago who were great, so might look at theirs! I'm determined to have a luxury holiday! :j
