Risky Claim?

Hi,
I am looking for some advice on reclaiming charges applied to my Halifax credit card. The problem is that i also have my mortgage with halifax and i was wondering that if i was to force them to repay my credit card charges would this have an affect on my mortgage? I am not necessarily thinking about an immediate affect but perhaps say if i was to default on it sometime in the near future would they look upon me in less favour? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. :)

  • None whatsoever since the mortgage agreement is separate to the credit card agreement.

You can reclaim credit cards but do you have any to reclaim since you appear to be making plans to get some from the second part of the post.

  • Well i am actually enquiring on behalf of my father, I myself have reclaimed successfully on a few cards and am trying to convince my dad to do the same but he thinks that if he was to 'screw the bank over' with reclaiming then maybe down the line if he gets into trouble with mortgage repayments they may not be as tolerant with him as they might have been. I thought that this was unlikely as their Mortgage department probably wouldnt even be aware of his reclaiming? Thanks for your help.
  • He would simply be reclaiming what is rightfully and legally his.
