Income Based JSA

My OH has been on Contributions based JSA up until 6th December and then was told that I earn too much for him to get income based JSA. I earn approx £105-£110 a week and we have 1 child. Now in the letter it states that by law you need x for each adult per week and this is what our calculation is based on. Under the section for dependant childen the amount is 0.00. Do you think they have calculated this incorrectly?

Does anyone know what amount per week having a child increases the rate by law you need to live on?

I can't seem to find anything online

JSA doesn't pay for children so having a child doesn't change applicable amount.

That's what tax credits are for.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Couple rate at £100.95 and £56.11 per dependant child is what the law states you need to live on each week. Therefore if they have calculated it without a depandant child its incorrect?

Yes and this was increased by £90 approx per 4 weeks once the JSA was stopped.

So loss of £257 per 4 weeks
Increase of £90 and then Housing benefit was decreased because of increase of CTC by £80.

So basically we now get £10 per 4 weeks instead of the £257 when he was on JSA. It just amazes me how they honestly expect you to live and pay bills on this money

The amount for the child is not paid through JSA, it is paid through child tax credits.
