MBNA keep rejecting me...

The 0% deal was up on my Cap One card so was looking around for a new 12 months deal elsewhere. Applied for a Virgin card last week, got declined again (2nd time in 2 years), but when I got the standard rejection letter, I also had a flyer from Orange Credit Card offering 0% 12 months. Applied, and was accepted. :j

Over the last few years, I've not had any rejections from any credit cards I've applied for, but I've never had any luck with anything from MBNA. Anyone else keep getting rejected by MBNA or am I alone in this?

  • Bank of America (MBNA) is hardly in great shape, maybe they are just being more picky at the moment. MBNA are the only provider to hike up my interest rate during the credit crunch.

Or perhaps you already have a card or account with Barclays so they know more about you?

Feel lucky. I wouldn't want a MBNA card if I didn't already have one. Their customer service is non-existent. Even when you make a complaint, they ignore you (and their own complaints procedure). Oh well, making a noose for their own neck as just about to go to the ombudsman.

I have held an MBNA card for a long time now. Gets loads of promotional offers. Set up a dd and never had any problems. Also my experience with customer service has always been excellent.

Then again I have always kept within their terms and conditions.

It is one of the best cards on the market.

I too have kept within T&Cs but if you have a Section 75 complaint, they don't want to know. The phone staff tell you something different every time. I would avoid.
