Ice Cube Maker, pleeease!

I'm planning a party and the venue is on hired premises. I'm trying to think of the best way to ensure my guests have chilled drinks. There is no refrigeration facility big enough to hold all the drinks so I'm considering an ice cube maker.
I've started to research these and have seen one on ebay for £125 that makes ice in 6 to 14 minutes. The timing sounds right but the price is a bit steep especially for a one-off event. Has anyone used these? Are they worth the money? Have you seen one cheaper, e.g. a used one?

The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.

Blimey, you could buy a fridge for that amount of money!!
How many drinks are you talking about that might help.
Could you not hire something for less?
or start asking friends and family now for mini fridges or coolers that you could borrow?
or could you not freeze ice cubes or buy bags of ice cubes and transport in a cooler and then transfer to ice buckets?
Im probably being really niave and you want cool 1,000,000 bottles of beer and I'm just thining of about 50-100 :rolleyes:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Hi, can you not buy the ice from iceland and put it in a coolbox?
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -

I bought one for our local community centre a few months back from Costco - I think it was about £80 not sure if they still sell them though. It works very well0 -
Ah, I'm the naive one. I didnt know Iceland sold ice! No its not for a multitude of people - just 60 to 70 people. Thanks for the suggestions. I personally only own a miini fridge but you're right. For that money I cd get a massive fridge to put it all in.The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0

if you have a farmfoods, they also sell bags of ice (could be cheaper?)I haven't got one!0

Usuall thing for a party outside is to fill a receptical with the beer and other stuff to be kept cool then fill it with ice. as the ice melts keep topping it up with ice
The receptical can be a bin or a paddling pool what ever is big enough to hold all your drinks, if they want ice in their drinks they can take it out od the pool. maybe get an extra bag of ice to go in the drinks.0 -

We have a farm foods that's a 20min drive away. Hopefully they wouldn't have melted in that time! My only concern is whether these places open on a Sunday. The party is on a Sunday and I don't have the means of keeping all that ice frozen overnight. I'll ring them up tomorrow. The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0 -
Lidl had one in the other day - can't remember how much it was though. You might be lucky and find they've got some left.0

Aldi also sell ice, most supermarkets do. The one near us is open 10 til 4 on Sunday. Or you could buy ice cube bags and make it yourself. If you don't have a cool box to transport the ice in wrap it up in towels or blankets to insulate it en-route to the party.0

We find that freezing loads of bottles of cheap mineral water - decant some first! - provides lots of ice blocks/ cooling power and a refreshing drink for your non drinking guests! These provide alot more cooling power than cubed iceI'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
