Car accident and claim

I was involved in a car accident last July where it wasn't either person fault. It was on a blind bend and a minor bump. However it was more ecomical for the car to be scrapped than repaired. I was paid for that ok, however I had a excess of £300 to pay. I paid that, however they said it probably go to 50/50 So I would get £150 back.
But every time I ring the insurers up they say it's still ongoing and they haven't come to an outcome yet. My renewal comes in February and I was
wondering what to do or put on comparasion sites, as regards the accidents.

You will notice that most will say that you must specify any accidents or claims regardless of fault.

A 50/50 still counts as a fault claim.
