Due to my partners wages dropping due to his company not doing very well at the moment ( he is only receiving £110) a week we have had to put a claim in to help with housing benefit and council tax benefit.
We have done this and have been awarded the full amount which is a little bit of good news for us seeing as we have 3 children. On the letter we have received it says we may be entitled to income support. We live together as a couple and he is working full time. At the moment we receive child tax credits and working tax credits.
Would we be able to claim income support, i thought it only appied to lone parents.
I have inputted the figures into entitled2 but that gives me options of 3 different things so i am a little confused as its asking which i would claim. I stay at home with the children who are under school age
any help will be much appreciated
thanks

No you wont get income support. Its for lone parents, sick, disabled, looking after someone who is sick or disabled or lone parent students.
  • Hi,
I am not working i had the children so i am am going to stay at home and look after them.
I did look into it just to see and by the time i had paid for 3 children to go into childcare ( or should i say working tax credits had) i was £5 a week better of that was all.
