                    hi, i had limited capability for work medical(use the term loosely) last week and today recieved a letter stating that my esa has been stopped on the back of this, no other explanation given.
I am going to appeal the decision but was wondering, does esa continue when dwp recieve the appeal or do i have to apply for it again, and what will happen with housing/ct ben do i need to inform housing office?
any help appreciated:mad::mad:

            You can claim ESA at the basic (assessment) rate while the appeal is pending providing you supply sick notes from your doctor. If you win the appeal (or they "reconsider" in your favour without going to appeal) you will get the extra backdated to the date of the medical.
 You have aright to a copy of the report / form filled in by the doctor at the "medical". Just call JSP and request it.
 To have any real chance of success you will need to come up with some additional medical evidence, maybe your GP or consultant can help or have your firm sent you to an occupational health physician?
 There is little point is just asking for it to be reconsidered as they will do this anyway if you appeal. If (as sometimes happens) they reconsider in your favour then it will not be sent to a formal appeal.
 There is a debate in another thread (ESA Technical Question) about the exact timing on some of these matters which can make a difference of £100 or so.
 I have no idea about housing benefit but hopefully somebody will know.

 The backdating is to the date of the decision not the date of the medical, the date of the decision is sometime after the date of the medical.0

            If you're unsure about filling in the appeal form, it might be worth going to your local CAB and getting advice. Wait until you have the assessment form, then they can go through you health problems with you, look for the areas you should have scored more points, and help with phrasing what you want to say.
 Definitely worth getting as much extra evidence as possible too though, from doctors or whoever you see.
 Good luck with it. ESA seems to be hell to claim.0

            Be sure to write a letter along with the form stating that you wish to appeal as well.
 ESA is incredibly easy to claim, it's just hard to stay on. Bit like Buckeroo.0

            Leaflet GL24 with a covering letter to your local BDC and your ESA will be paid when they receive the form so don't delayNothing to see here :beer:0
