Because most internet rail sites are totally useless, and require email addresses before giving any information [why?] your best bet is to ring
Virgin on their local number 08457 222 333 and tell them the times you want to travel and obtain their cheapest price.
South Ken station is on the Circle line, as is Paddington-tell Virgin that you
want to travel on the tube as well since some of their tickets do include
this facility and thus saves time and possibly money.0 -
Have a look at the oxford tube.... might be of use... Its a coach service that runs from central london with various pick and stop off points between London and Oxford...
I think its about £11 return for a student#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

there are two coach companies running regular (up to every 10 minutes) trips to and from London. oxford tube and oxford express. they stop in shepherds bush, baker st. and victoria - although do confirm this. Cost about £8 for one day return, up to about £15. Takes 100 minutes. The train is about £20 return, or £11 with young persons rail card. Takes 55 minutes, is much more pleasant and goes to Paddington. Have spent many an unsuccessful web trawl looking for discounts -can't find any: the service is run by First Great Western though, maybe you can. Hope this helps.0

The buses from Oxford are (both lines run frequently, 10-15 minutes wait. I've never ever had to wait longer than that)
Oxford Espress (from Gloucester Green, Queen St, St Clements, Thornhill Park and Ride)
It will cost you £44 for a one week ticket
Full list of fares here http://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/espress3.shtml
Stops for Espress in London are Hillingdon, Baker St, Marble Arch, Victoria
Oxford Tube
Stops in Oxford are the same
1 week pass is £48
Full fares are here http://www.oxfordtube.com/tube_fares.php
Stops are Hillingdon, Notting Hill Gate, Marble Arch, Victoria
For the cheapest Tube fares in London, get an Oyster card, costs £3 deposit and you will get it back when you return the card at a station. Single fares are only £1.50 (not the usual £3.00!!!)
If you want to take the train into London (it is only 50 minutes compared to 90 minutes on the bus), you can buy a weekly season ticket. I'm quite sure it will be about double the price of the buses. (Well, a cheap day return with a young persons railcard is £11.65 and you won't be able to catch a train until after 9:30am, not good when you're doing a course).
On the website, you can only get a weekly season ticket by going to the train station, complete the application form from the First Great Western website and bring a passport sized photo.0 -
