1. Why on earth the bank hasn't gotten in touch with me once during this period either by letter or when I've called with queries?
Well, even without a phone call or letter, charges would have been detailed on your statement. Even if they weren't, at the very least your statements would have shown a negative balance. Instead of checking the account, you "popped each statement into the shredder as it arrived."Is there anything I can do/anyone I can write to, to explain my situation and have this access reinstated.
It might be worth making a formal complaint. Explain it was a genuine mistake, and you feel the action being taken is disproportionate. Ultimately, NatWest can choose who they do business with, but from reading your post I think you already understand this.
Also, just to clarify, what do you mean by "3rd Party Access"? Do you mean a joint account? Or an additional card holder on a credit card account?
Below is a link to details on NatWest's complaint procedure:-

Sorry to confuse, the 3 rd party access is simply a debit card issued in my name from my father's current account. I run the household so it makes life so much easier for me to have that card and I'm hoping that I can have it reinstated. But you're right, I'm pretty resigned to the fact that Natwest can pick and choose whom they do business with.
Thanks for clearing that up. Even if you can't have your own accounts reinstated it would be definitely worth raising a complaint about your father's account. Explain the circumstance under which you require access to this account and hope that NatWest will show a little compassion.
Like I've said before, follow the complaints procedure. In particular I would draft a letter detailing the situation and send it recorded delivery. The very worst that can come from following this action is NatWest stand by their original decision.
Best of luck!Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0
